31st July / 1st August: What a
wonderful weekend we have all just had, our steam event went
really well, all the exhibitors came along with wonderful
machines, Traction Engines, Steam Rollers, Showmans Engines,
Stationary Engines, Tractors, Classic Cars and even the
weather held off raining. We had 568 people on Saturday
and 1066 on Sunday come through the gates. Thank you to
all our volunteers, exhibitors and of course customers who
made the event a massive success. Pictures are in the photo

11th July: The whole
middle section has now been cleared and is ready for the Big
Steam Event on the 31st July/1st August.

4th July: A Great steam day
with arrivals of American trucks during the day and then
"The Blue Sueders" with Elvis in the evening, great fun with
a lot of dancing taking place.

2nd July: Our new
Marquee is now up and fully working with a great dance
floor, with lighting and capacity for about 200 people. The
Marquee is available for private functions, for more

1st July: The Steam
Rally is getting a lot of attention and we currently have
Large Traction Engines, Steam Rollers, Scaled Traction
Engines, Stationary Engines, a few Tractors, some 3 Wheeler
Cars, Model Railways, 180' ride on Miniature Railway and
loads more, because some of exhibitors are only just finding
our about us we have extended the deadline for exhibitors to
get their forms to us to 10th July, a copy of which can be

20th June:
At least:
100 dads, 50 cyclists, 40 coach travellers, 36 cubs on
bikes, 50 families, 5 newborn babies and - no not a
Partridge in a Pear Tree but - ONE electric kettle, all
enjoyed our Solstice Fathers' Day Steaming. Our special
thanks go to our two steam departments: Annie the engine
and her dedicated crew as well as Dawn, Diana and
the
kitchen kettle for their efforts to make our steam days
go well. As we get more popular the harder our staff
have to work. One of the things that has to go is
taking pictures. If you happen to be with us on a steam

that if there are children in the photos we would have
to have their parents' permission to reprint them in
On Line.
12th June: We are
having a car boot on the 19th of June (Saturday) - Doors
open at 8am and will go on till late in the day, if you
would like to have a pitch its £5 per pitch, so come along
and enjoy yourself for the day. The Stall holder will get a
free of coffee.
16th May: A review from a visitor can be read by clicking

14th May: A New
option has been put on the menu to allow anybody to download
any of our current leaflets or forms.
6th May: Our new
doors and windows arrived today for the engine shed, so the
old frames were removed and new ones fitted, all they need
now is a coat of paint.

3rd May: On this
steam day Matthew Hipperson (Passed Cleaner) was presented
with an old railway watch by John Fletcher (which he used
when he was on the railway) in appreciation of his hard work
and support for the Whitwell & Reepham railway.

Below are 2 of our 'cleaners' who help out (Sam and Harvey),
I think we used them to actually wipe the dirt off Annie
when she was cleaned this morning!

18th April: The
Cheese And Wine Evening was a success, with everybody
enjoying the selection of wines from all round the world
ranging from £3 to £18 a bottle with different grape types.
The cheeses went really well with the fresh French stick. 
17th April: At the
AGM it was announced that we had won a Grant totalling
£70,000. This was under the
Governments
Low Carbon Communities Challenge (LCCC) program. We were
awarded the £70,000 for the provision of a biomass boiler to
provide heat into the engine shed and station, plasterboard
the ceiling in the engine shed, install insulation in the
engine shed and station and install new doors and windows in
the engine shed. This work is now underway with the Engine
shed and insulation first, thanks to
Anglian Insulations,
Ian Chettleburgh and
Norfolk Dry Wall for their quick and efficient work done so
far.
16th April: We have
been approved by Biffa for a grant totalling £25,000 for the
provision of electricity into the station, this is under
their "Biffaward"
scheme, and we would like to thank Biffa for giving us this
award.
8th April: The Steam
Rally forms are now available for any Exhibitors wanting to
Exhibit their Steam Engine, Tractor Engine, Stationary
Engine, or anything related to steam at our festival on 31st
July/1st August, please

27th March: John
Roberts, one of our key volunteers celebrates his
seventy-third
Birthday with a cake at the station while he was laying new
track. He did share some with the rest of us, Happy Birthday
John.

15th March: The
Cheese And Wine Evening has now been organised, forms can be
viewed HERE.
Its going to be a nice evening of tasting wines and eating
cheese, what more can you need in life!
11th March: We don't
normally mention other railways, but our congratulations
goes to North Norfolk Railway (Poppy Line) in the reopening
of their level crossing at Sheringham and the arrival of
Oliver Cromwell.
28th February:
Another of our crew passed his "Passed Cleaner" exam and was
presented with his certificate by Alan Baker,
congratulations George.

27th February: Our
3rd Beer festival started with a cold and wet Saturday, and
did not get much better over the weekend, but it was well
attended.... As we have beer left we thought why not keep
the beer flowing till the end of next weekend i.e. 10pm on
the 7th March!

We have 21 beers available from 3.7% to a whopping 9%.

Thanks to all the helpers (and tasters!) and to all the people who made the lovely
cakes.
15th February:
At the last Steam Day, Matthew Hipperson and Nico Atkins
were presented with their "Passed Cleaner" certificates as
they have been constantly tested by our Inspector Alan Baker
and Driver Mick Andrews over the last 6 months, the both
passed with flying colours, so congratulations to both of
them.

13th February: We
seem to have lost our Gazebo, it has been stolen from the
platform last night where it was used to serve the BBQ from.
If anybody has further information please contact Reepham
Police, or us, or just return it please!

13th February:
All the 20 beers are now ordered for the 1st reopening and
3rd Beer festival at the end of the month, Saturday and
Sunday will see Annie steaming with both of our carriages
being pulled by her, our volunteers are working hard in the
background to upgrade the Vacuum brakes required for this to
happen.
7th February:
The
Reepham Running Club have held a 10K run for several years,
partly to encourage runners to visit Reepham and surrounds,
but also to generate funds for the Club. Because Reepham
Runners have enjoyed the support of the Local Community, it
has been felt that the Club should attempt to encourage
other local community activities, so from the monies
generated by the annual run 3 local charities have
benefited. The Whitwell & Reepham Railway Preservation was
chosen because of their local involvement and willingness to
make their facilities available for the community benefit,
including Reepham Running Club. On Sunday 7th Feb
several of the members of Reepham Running Club attended the
presentation of the Cheque for £150 to Mike Urry Chairman of
the Whitwell & Reepham Preservation Trust. Mike Urry thanked
the Reepham Running Club for their donation and indicated
the money would go to improve the facilities for the
visitors to the Station.

30th January:
The Norfolk Railway Society very kindly held a raffle in
aid of the Whitwell & Reepham Railway Society, the cheque
for £300 was presented to Richard Bailey at their Annual
Show.

6th January:
Our first signal is installed and commissioned.

5th January:
Our yearly accounts are now available in the members area.
The AGM to approve these and to vote on certain items has
been set for the 19th February at 5:30pm. All members are
welcome please bring your membership card if you wish to
vote in person.
4th January:
The newest newsletter has now been sent to the printers, all
the online members can download from the members area.
